Leadership
As a member church of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Hope Church is governed by a council of elders called by the church's members. Known as the Session, this group includes our pastors, or "teaching elders," and ordained members elected by the congregation, or "ruling elders." Elders are ordained for life but serve fixed terms on the Session.
The job of the elders is to represent the mind of Christ to the people of God's church. The first jobs of the elders are prayer and the ministry of the Word. In addition to this they are to serve as examples of God-honoring lives before this congregation, their families and the world. Our elders lead the church through service in its various areas of ministry--general and financial management of the church and through caring for the spiritual needs of the individuals whom God has called to be a part of Hope. Normally they meet on the second Monday of every month. Meetings always begin with an extended time of prayer for the needs of the congregation.
The current list of elders and their contact information is listed below. For further information, email Pastor Tom Masterson about the Session.
